“What a busy and productive week it was for Ultimate Conferences + Events last week! Corrie and Lisa flew up to Sydney on the Tuesday morning, hired a car, then in true ‘Thelma and Louise’ style, pointed the car north and ended up in Manly!
We were keen to inspect Mirvac’s newly acquired Q Station, as well as catch up with our friends at both the Sebel Manly and the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific hotels whilst there. Each of these three properties certainly have their own ‘personality’ offering great solutions to the various needs of our clients. We couldn’t help but picture many of you making best advantage of the spaces, all varying in size and style, as we toured them all…
Q Station is the old Quarantine Station and boasts absolutely fantastic views around the bay/Manly area. If you chose to conference here, the focus would be on more of a private, rustic, relaxed, rural retreat, rather than the more luxurious incentive type conference. In contrast, the more contemporary Sebel Manly is situated right on the beach front. Accommodation is situated across two towers and the conference facilities suit more the intimate to medium sized events – all spaces with abundant natural light and most with ocean views.
*With these two Mirvac venues being so convenient to one another, an interesting idea could be to utilise the conference and accommodation facilities of the Sebel Manly, and then perhaps use Q Station for your team building, offsite dinner/BBQ options or even a “ghostly tour” experience!
Finally, the Novotel Manly Pacific which is situated the other end of the foreshore - the largest meeting facility located at Manly. On being greeted very warmly by the concierge and front office staff - who could not have been more helpful - our first impression was definitely a positive!
This hotel offers a variety of accommodation styles – all very comfortable, spacious and with the luxuries one comes to expect of the Novotel brand. After checking in, it was difficult to resist kicking back on the lounge on our private balcony, surveying the activity beachfront… but somehow we managed to pick ourselves up to meet our host for drinks and a tour of all the facilities this versatile venue has to offer…
Conference facilities at Novotel Manly Pacific are plentiful with the ‘Grand Ballroom’ not only having natural light, but also access onto a large protected terrace overlooking the ocean. Add plenty of breakout spaces (many of which also boast natural light/ocean views), plus funky options for evening events or more creative workshops and this venue is truly a one stop shop for conferences of almost any kind.
Primed with plenty of recommendations for dinner amongst the bustling Manly strip of restaurants and cafes (great for off-site/casual dinner options after meeting during the day), we ended the day with a walk along the esplanade and al fresco dining – including the obligatory charddy for Corrie and a delicious Mojita for Lisa… What a great area for your next residential conference…
But now, to get ourselves organised for a huge “Day 2”! :-)
